The Rebel Story
The club’s history is a story of keeping American football alive through changing generations, player numbers and opportunities.
American football had already established roots in Dalarna through earlier clubs, including Falun Copperheads.
Dalecarlia Rebels was formed after Falun Copperheads ceased operating, helping the sport continue in the region.
The Rebels entered league competition and brought together players from Falun, Borlänge and the wider region.
The club experienced periods when player numbers made regular competition difficult. The work shifted toward keeping knowledge, identity and opportunity alive.
The Rebels is rebuilding through recruitment, youth development, community involvement and renewed opportunities to play—including the 2026 U18 collaboration with Upplands-Bro Broncos.
What survives every season
Different bodies, backgrounds, abilities and personalities are needed.
Everyone starts somewhere, and improvement is built one repetition at a time.
Football works only when people protect, communicate and do their job for others.
A rebuilding club learns to continue even when the route changes.
